LUCKY LAUNDROMAT

This illustration was inspired by a photograph taken during the day, but as I began to compose it, I started to imagine what it would look like late at night; the soft glow from within the 24-hr laundromat a welcome mirage of warmth against a cold and deserted street. Here again, as in Cowrie Shell Woman, I was lured by the striking contrast between shades of purple and gold.
