APPLES TO APPLES

I’m trying to develop my style lexicon, and so here I’m sharing an exercise I did, illustrating an apple using different brushes and styles. gonna try this exercise using more brushes and styles, and perhaps with portraiture, or another less neutral object. but the neutrality of the object is useful — vital, really — to seeing the differences in a holistic way. i’m also just having a hell of a lot of fun, if i’m being completely honest! i don’t think i’ll end up sticking to any one style, but these sketchbook pages will be a useful resource.
